Nikolaos Loutas is a Manager at PwC's Technology Consulting practice, involved mainly in projects on interoperability between public administrations. He specialises in semantic and technical aspects of interoperability and has deep insights into open standards. He has participated in a number of standardisation activities, including the Asset Description Metadata Schema, the e-Government Core Vocabularies and the DCAT Application Profile for data portals in Europe, all supported by the European Commission under Action 1.1 of the Interoperability Solutions for European Public Administration (ISA) Programme. Before joining PwC, Nikolaos was working as a Semantic Web researcher, with a focus on government data and service interoperability, for leading EU research centres, such as the Digital Enterprise Research Institute (DERI) in Ireland and the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH) in Greece. He has published more than 55 papers and reports in the fields of semantic interoperability for data and services in international journals, conferences and books.
